Database connection issues 11 Months ago
I am having issues connecting to the database of certain site. I have successfully connected to some.

All the settings are correct. These sites are copies of themselves. The installations and db's are on the same server. No firewalls. FTP is good. I have tried deleting the wrappersql file. Php setings user/pass are all okay.

At a loss.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes please tell me 10 Months, 1 Week ago
It says I have uploaded to the site. But it won't even create the categories.

It copies over the wrapperMySQL.php and query.txt files without a problem.

I've tried everything including given full access to the site and renaming my .htaccess file but nothing seems to work.

The issue I was having was connection to DB.

The solution was in correcting the php mysql database password whcih contained characters other than alpha/numeric. although those characters are allowed and function with mysql and I have no problem connecting joomla to the database with the existing passwrod, I was required to change the password to alpha/numeric only. For some reason "Multi Site" did not like it.

For your solution try.

Delete wrapper and querry from remote site and try again.

See forum for adjusting the "php" file that's missing the "?" after php.

Make sure that your permissions on your local , not remote", site are correct. Multi Site nneds to write to files on the sending/local site.

I also have have an issue where descrip/meta keyword tags that contained content would hold the article from being sent, but when these fields were cleaned the content was able to pass.

Good luck.
