Automatic download in pending classification by rules choice, when you connect yourself to administrator virtual news manager compment.
If it's possible

Please provide a more efficient way to input rules and categories. For my application, I wish to aggregate feeds according to geography, so i want to create rules and categories for cities, states, countries, regions, etc. I can certainly use the methods already provided but it would be nice to be able to bulk upload a csv file for example and get the computer to do all the work . I looked at using phpmyadmin but was afraid i would torch something.

Great component by the way!

This sounds very interesting bcs I also want this kind of structure! Global and local set up and with attributes like different interests in categories.

So you could categorize (tagging?) different news feeds from interest category with localization parameter too.

I tried to import a full text RSS, but it's not working.
Any other full RSS resource?
Thanks
Danny

UPDATE: it works: I had to correct the date.

Yes its a real pity that this project/Joomla component just died.

One suggestion would be to create a working group that is not depended on one man only. This I have seen happened with other promising Joomla component too that just fails in the long run bcs of managment structure.

Well if anyone like this idea its a good road forward I think.

Best regards!

I dont think such a powerfull component to be dead. I tried a payed Feed2Post and was very incompetent comparing with Jooglar VNM.
I guess the project is just in standby mode. And nobody gives a code to improve, just ask questions.
My experience of about just a few hours (added more than 120 feed items to my info system) I would like to write an english manual if I had the time, if I cannot code, because my coding just don't kick ass....yet.

Re:New Version of Virtual Newspaper Manager--> TODO 1 Year ago
I hope this project isn't dead. It's exactly what I need.

Here are a few improvements I'd like, and would be willing to pay for:

1. Ability to import content into K2 categories. I've got a number of sites now using K2, and want to be able to integrate these 2 excellent components.

2. CSS layout options, VNM lacks good control over the look of the items.

3. clearer workflow - it can be be a little confusing for newbies to use.

Thanks for all your work, and I hope we'll see a new version sometime soon!

Re:New Version of Virtual Newspaper Manager--> TODO 1 Year ago
Good ideas but I think this project is dead unfortunately so maybe encourage anyone to make a new version or try to join the core dev about it? There have not been any news, activity going on here for long time I believe.

I think this Joomla addon have a really nice potential bcs doing many nice things for automating feeds and news into sites.

So problem is how to take it to the next step? I miss one thing and thats have to automate it to automatically post into set up categories. When I tried it last time it didnt work so I gave up. Also have to limit/delete/archived articles.
